RACERS GUIDE
****Pick up your Driver Information Card at Front Gate.
****Fill out your driver info. card completely and take to Tower.
****Find yourself a pit space and listen for your class to be called. This could be a good time to relax, or maybe take
a look around, go to the concession stand or just visit with some of the really nice people that race at Hot Rod City Raceway!!
****When you class is called, go to the Staging lanes and line up for your time trial. The time trials are run in sessions
and each racer gets 1 pass per session only. Please be sure and bring your punch time trial card to staging area!! Do not
get back in line until you class is called for the next session.
****Track official will motion you onto the track. Cars with slicks can back into the water boxes for a burnout. Cars
with treaded tires usually don't back into the water boxes. (It can actually make traction worse.)
**After you have heated your tires roll slowly towards the starting line until Pre-stage light (very top bulb on tree
in you lane) is on. Inch your vehicle slowly forward until you stage light comes on. When both racers are staged the tree
will count down to the Green. Most racers leave on the 2nd or 3rd Amber light, depending on the reaction of you and your vehicle.
.500 Reaction time is perfect.
****You are Drag Racing!! Stay in the center of your lane unless you have problems with your vehicle, then move to the
outside edge of the race track and stop. If no problems exist always clear racing surface before you stop!!
****When you pass the finish line slow your vehicle and turn right at the end of track. Stop at the E.T. Shack for your
Time Slip. Drive slowly back to your Pit area and wait for your class to be called for the next round of time trials.
****During Eliminations all vehicles must display a Dial-N on the right side of the windshield and the passenger door
window. Dial-N must be neat and easily Read. Please use Dial N polish that The Track Recommends!! Refrain from using Blue
or Red because it is hard to see!!
****First or 2nd round buy backs in each class has been voted on Losers can re-enter ( 1 time) 1st or 2nd round by going
to the tower immediately.
****IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK A TRACK OFFICIAL AND HE OR SHE WILL BE GLAD TO HELP!!! GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A GREAT
TIME AT HOT ROD CITY RACEWAY!!!
